About This Site
The Snoring Sleep Apnea is written by a retired lineman who snored for twenty years, was diagnosed with sleep apnea after a sleep study, and now sleeps with a CPAP. It covers the gear that made his nights and his wife's nights quieter: nasal strips, wedge and CPAP pillows, mask cleaning wipes and sinus rinse kits. Every product here was bought with his own money and used for months before he wrote a word about it.

Sleep Health Safety
Loud, regular snoring can be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea, a medical condition in which breathing stops and starts during sleep. If someone has seen you stop breathing, gasp or choke in your sleep, or you are drowsy during the day, falling asleep behind the wheel, or waking with headaches, talk to your doctor about a sleep study before trying any snoring product. Never drive drowsy.
Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats or cures sleep apnea. Nasal strips, pillows and rinses are comfort aids. They do not replace a CPAP or any therapy your doctor prescribed, so never stop or change a prescribed treatment without talking to your doctor first.
Use only distilled, sterile or previously boiled and cooled water in a sinus rinse, never water straight from the tap, and clean and dry the bottle after every use. Stop using nasal strips on irritated, sunburned or broken skin. Clean CPAP masks only with products the mask maker allows, let parts dry fully, and replace cushions and filters on the schedule your equipment supplier gives you. Raising the head of the bed with a wedge is not right for everyone with back, neck, circulation or reflux problems, so ask your doctor if you are unsure.
